Shootings

Baseco has always had a strong presence of death. Mostly from sickness and accidents. Coffins are a common sight around the area.

But in recent years, and especially in recent months, shootings are really on the rise.

Last night there was two Tanods (local, low level law enforcement) shot dead at about 7pm in one of the busiest parts of the market. These were not random shootings, these were either assassinations or pay back. One bullet in the body, then another in the head as the first victim lay on the ground. The other victim died with 30 minutes in the local hospital.

Can make you a little bit nervous, these two shootings were less than 100m from our house.

  1. Sorry to hear this and I’ll pray that you and your workers will continue to be protected by the blood of Jesus, and that as you and your workers share Him with others, it will bring about great transformation in people’s lives and therefore in the community.
