An unknown donor, who might not even follow this blog, just gave us 3 refurbished laptops.
The young man in this photo is Roderick Mission. We have known him since he was about 8. His is a tragic life story.
By the age of 10 he was the sole income earner for his mum, dad and four siblings. He would study by day, work in the markets most of the night, sleep for couple of hours, then repeat the process.
His father died of TB when he was young. Roderick unfortunately hated his father. After the father died, the mother remarried in less than a month, to a horrible man. It was not long after this that the family took the younger siblings to the province, abandoning Roderick in Baseco. I think he might of been 14 or 15 at the time. He had no home, no money and no one to care for him.
We have sent Roderick to school for most of his school life, we are now sending him to college. He is studying computer programming, but up until now, he has not had a laptop. He has one now. Roderick lives in a house that we built for him with a couple of other boys. He is a leader in the youth group. He will succeed in life, regardless of his start in life, because he knows Jesus.
So, to the unknown sponsor, thank you for helping us to help Roderick even more. The other two laptop’s will also be going to other college students.
They are very happy for you blessing them.
Thank you – Mark and Christine Pedder.
