First Dressing Change

First dressing change went really. Nothing stuck, no bleeds. A few tears, but just nervous ones, no screaming with pain. I will admit to being very relieved. You never really know with burns.

They came in tonight and a couple of bandages looked soaked through, and you think to yourself, “stuff, that looks stuck” – but NOTHING STUCK, it was just a front to make me nervous.

The burns look great, no early signs of infection, no bleeds. Some dead skin came off in the dressing change, and history tells us that will just happen with every change, and we will not have to remove it before it’s ready. They will come morning and night for new dressings. We might not have the most sterile environment, but we do have one filled with love, kindness and care.

Me and Jesus never hurt kids. Children will tell you, that when they come to us for anything “walang masakit”, it never hurts.

Thank you Jesus, and a huge thank to those who are praying.

Massive thank you to the multitude involved in today’s FB barrage of prayer support and encouragement, also to the many who made phone calls, shared posts, raised money, gave money, talked to Dr’s, organised freight and secured a heap more of the cream we need, which should arrive here in less than a week. Our cream will last til then.
