We had a lady from Sydney, Adrienne Ebsworth, come up with a way to both raise funds and at the same time train and equip a few locals with some additional livelihood skills.
She came and taught a couple of ladies some sewing. Purchased a sewing machine and began making material dolls with students that we sponsor as faces. Adrienne then endeavours to sell the dolls in Australia.
All the proceeds from the sales go to the three ladies who have produced the dolls, who each get cash and a full sack of rice for what is only a few hours a day of easy work, with some of the funds also going towards our college sponsorship program.
It’s a simple program, that has been effective so far, but it is still in the early stages of development.
Thank you Adrienne, for your idea and your efforts to make a difference in the lives of the poor.
