How does sponsorship work – at the start of the year students get the necessary funds to purchase uniforms, shoes, bags and all stationary needs, we give them a detailed list of items, that includes the current prices of things. We them need to see all items that were purchased and the receipts for the purchases. Once both of these have very checked, weekly sponsorship can begin. We do not give students a set amount of funds per week or per month. The student needs to attend a weekly student meeting, where they put in a specific request for items needed for schooling – eg: 2 notebooks, more pencils, a ruler. The funds for those items is then given to the student on the next day. From now on, small items do not need a receipt, large items do.
This is a very admin’ intensive way of running the program, but by using this system (which we have developed over time), we are able to ensure that as much of your sponsorship funds, go directly to your specific students education, and not just into the families general needs.
Please be patient this page is currently being updated, not all students are here yet…but they are coming soon…
