Baseco Missions TEAM…

Three of our best, Pastora Marivic, Pastora Annie and Riza went last week as our very first self funded Missions Team from the slums of Baseco to work with and bless, Lucy Longdon in the incredible work that her and her team are doing in Cebu.

The stories and testimonies are still coming out of our team, as they are now back in Baseco, but it is very clear that they were both blessed and a great blessing while they were there. They saw another world of ministry. The Lord used them to see baptisms in the Holy Spirit as they ministered in youth meeting, with women, in prisons, in the cemetery…many different places.

What did Jesus say “Go into ALL the World”…and do what…”Preach the Gospel”, and then what will happen…”Signs will follow…”. Amen. How simple is that.

Notice that He never mentioned “do this when you are FREE”, or “do this when you have some extra cash”, or “do this after bible college”…imagine, girls from a slum, with so little education, no bible college, definitely no spare cash, the 2 pastors still have small children at home…but still, they have enough faith TO GO on a “self funded” missionary trip…have you ever heard of anything so crazy in all your life….WHAT’S YOUR EXCUSE…

Slum Missionaries – “He said GO…”

History in the making…we are sending a “SELF FUNDED” team to Cebu for four days to work with another Aussie Missionary, Lucy Longdon.

They will fly there and back using their own money. Now, for some of you reading this you will think “big deal, so what”…BUT remember where these people come from, how much they earn, how huge this step is for them. They believe God is sending them, they are going as Missionaries themselves, they are going to give, to serve, they are not going to receive, they are not being paid…their own “Faith” is making this possible, not their financial situation.

Sometimes we have all the money in the world and we still find it hard to do what Jesus wants us to do. The Lord God Almighty in His infinite wisdom, spoke to people who live in a third world slum and told them “to GO into all the world and preach the gospel”, and as amazing as it might seem, they are “going”, just because He said. How incredible is that, sounds so biblical, sounds so easy.

And another amazing thing is they actually believe that they have something to contibute, I am not sure how they saw themselves before, but now they see themselves as preachers, ministers, and missionaries. They see themselves as “able to have an impact”.

It might seem like a small thing, but it’s very exciting.

Can we learn any lesson from this simple display of FAITH…?

Bless you Mark

James Troup

James Troup a great friend has just been here in Baseco with us for 3 weeks, but we had to let him return to his lovely wife, Cathy and their children. He was a huge blessing to me personally and to the people that the Lord has sent us too, they all loved him.

Thanks James…

MINDANAO CRUSADES…

We took Eddie Coe, James Troup, Peter Rodgers, David Kenny and two of our local leaders down to Mindanao for three nights of Healing Crusades, God did incredible things in an 85% Muslim area. Only a few Muslims attended the meetings, but the power of the Lord was present to heal, just like the gospels and the book of Acts.

On the first night there were more than 350 people who attended the meetings. By the last night there might of been 450, it was hard to estimate in the dark, dim lit area.

Healing Crusades in Baseco and Mindanao…

It has been a while since my last blog, but we have been having a few probs with the laptop, scrubbing the hard drive and installing new programs…but all good now…

CRUSADES…

We have had a healing crusade with Eddie Coe here in Baseco. We knew the meeting were going to be good, but they were heaps better than we could of imagined…blind eyes opened, deaf ears opened, heaps of instant miracles…lots of salvations. I think there were at least 60 salvations on the first night.

Our local leaders were amazed by the moving of the Holy Spirit in Salvations and healings. The Holy Spirit was moving powerfully amongst us, as per the book of Acts.

Michael Holton, from Port Lincoln AOG

We have had he pleasure of having Michael stay and work with us in Baseco for the last few months. He has been before for a stay of a few months and has visited on many occassions with teams from his church.

Michael is involved in most areas of ministry from doing bible studies, pastoral care, church meetings and house building (just to mention a few of his activities).

In the last few weeks he has been ivolved in building two houses…

One was for a family that Michael knew from a previous visit here. We became involved with this family as the children were sick and malnourished. There is no father present and so the task of raising the children and providing their daily needs falls to the mother. In our Aussie world, that might not seem like such a big deal, but here, with no social welfare and no financial support at all, that is a very difficult task. Julie (the mother) is very uneducated and work is always scarce and always poorly paid. We had a couple of small typoons in the last few months and one of them basically destroyed Julie’s house, so Michael rebuilt it.

There is another lady, Marimar, a little bit special in the intellect area, can’t read or write and just a really poor simple woman, She only has one child, Jerome, but their house has been really bad for quite a while, and Michael simply believe God placed it upon his heart to build her a new house. Something that was an absolute impossibility for her to ever do herself. A great blessing, I will upload some photos at another date, as there seems to be some sort of tech hitch at the moment.
