Jerome – Malnourished
This is Jerome, he is 6 and 3rd degree malnourished. His lips are dry and cracked, his body is very weak, his appetite is all but gone and he will be full of worms. There are 5 other children, who are ok. The father is a scavenger, the income is not enough. This family will be starting in our family sponsorship program this week.
The message of Jesus Christ is good news for this family, because with the message comes the hands and feet of His ministers. First thing we do with Jerome, is de-worming, as it is almost a guarantee that he is full of worms, usually both round worms and thread worms. The worming stuff we use is in the form of chocolate squares, and Jerome is like every other child, he loves chocolate, so it is never hard to get the kids to take the worming medicine. Literally the next day he will be worm free. Next we weight him. Then he begins on specialised milk formula, again chocolate. We gave him some while we were there and he loved it, and the good thing for him is he will be able to drink as much as he wants, the more the better. The milk is 380p (AUD 12) per 400gram tin, he will prob’ need a tin every 2 days, 3 tins per week, an absolute impossibility for his parents. He will also start on liquid vitamins daily. We can save his life.
We had a chat to mum, she seems to be a good mum in a difficult spot (not all parents are good people), we explain he needs to eat fruit and veg’, or what ever they are eating as well as the milk. He has a week or so to show some signs of improvement or else he will need to go to a specialised malnourishment hospital for treatment. The best news is Jeromes mum got saved today. She was one of 5 ladies who accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.
Hands and Feet of Jesus – walking to where people are and then holding them up until they pull through whatever their need might be.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the things that I have done you will do, and even greater things you will do…”

“Most assuredly” – this verse is like the rest of the bible, it’s a certain promise, sealed by Jesus Himself, backed by all of heaven, it can never fail, this will work…

“Pigsa” – Boils
We found this little boy a few days ago. He had had a large “pigsa” (boil) right in the middle of his back for the last two weeks. For some reason it had not burst (which is bad) and the parents had tried to keep it clean, but had not sought medical attention. They are very poor, often the poor won’t go to hospital because they can’t afford the medicine anyway, so what’s the point.
The problem in this case is the location of the pigsa and the swelling it is causing is making it hard for this little fellow to walk. But a little bit of care and kindness, a little bit of antiseptic powder and betadine, a clean bange daily and for some reason this thing burst after 2 days (I say God did it). This was a deep pigsa, look at the hole it left in his back. The hole looks bad, but it’s great, no puss, no infection and the wound will heal now. So we literally pack the hole with antiseptic powder and betadine, a clean bandage and in a few days this thing will be all fixed. Not that hard to do, but makes a huge difference to this little boy.
Looks a bit messy, but we are all that concerned with neat and tidy, we want him fixed.
Most of our leaders can now confidently treat minor stuff like this, but it is so often these little things that get infected and become serious problems, so if we take care of the minor stuff, it does not become major.
Same in our walk with Jesus amen, it’s the little foxes that spoil the vine, deal with the small stuff as soon as it happens and it never becomes a serious problem.

Ongoing Medical Work
Marivic is our local Pastor, but she also doubles as nurse or doctor from time to time. In these pics she is treating two seperate burns victims. The burn to the foot, is just such a bad place to get a burn, so hard to keep it clean and infection free…both ladies come daily to get their dressings changed, the wound cleaned and the burns cream put on. They were both hot water burns.
The last picture is only a small portion of the burn, as it is in a very inappropriate area, the ladies abdomen, both thighs and under the breast were all burnt. The inside of the other thigh is far worse than the side you can see in the picture.
But Marivic does a good job, she she is very thorough and very gentle, these should both heal up fine in time.

Hair Lip Operations
HAIR LIP OPERATIONS – “SMILE TRAIN
Hi there to all – look at these results, great stuff…3 children have had operations so far…
Our first hairlip child was Muhumad…check out the before and after…PHOTO 1-2.
This next one is Noah, this is a stunning difference, you have took look a few times to see the same kid…he had to have a false upper lip put in so he could drink and put on weight before the operation, what a difference…PHOTO 3-6.
Then there was Jonmar…PHOTO 7-8, all of these children still have cleft pallets to fix in a few months time.
One of the aspects of Jesus, was that He “went around doing good…”, of course He did it in the power of the Holy Spirit and with pure miracles, demonstrations and manifestations of heaven (due to various lacks in our own personal lives we tend to do things with finance or medicines – which can never be the right way to get stuff done…but until our hearts open to God and His Spirit, it’s all we have at the moment)…but none the less great results for these children and their mothers.
I think that we have 7 more children going through the examination progress before they can get their operations, including a 28 year old man, who can hardly talk due to the size of the cleft in his pallet.

Medical Mission – Temporary Relief for the Poor…
We just had a Medical Mission in our church in Baseco. We had 2 doctors and 1 dentist who worked really hard for most of the day. The doctors saw 330 patients and the dentist pulled out more than 100 teeth from 45 patients…they worked hard, volunteering their time to help the poor. Every patient got medicines and vitamins for their various ailments.
We had a team of our leaders praying for people and sharing Jesus with everyone. It was a big day for all involved. The guy who provided the clinic is a German Missionary named John. He had a team of 14 workers doing various things all day. Here are a few pics…
Medical Missions are a catch 22 situation…you medicate people who will need medicating again. Many of the people who attended the medical mission have minor sickness’s that are not life threatening…but it does allow us another level of connection into the community, allowing us to find some of the more serious disease issues, as well as opening up more opportunities for prayer and potential miracles.
We found another baby who will need a hairlip operation and our second rare case of Kwashior Kor Malnourishment. A very deadly form of malnourishment, where the child looks fat, but is severley malnourished. The fat look is due to the childs internal fluid leaching into the skin due to the child’s internal organs de-hydrating. Predominantly caused by a massive vitamin A deficiency, along with basic lack of food and vitamins.

Hi there to all, a few weeks ago I mentioned a little girl who had burn horribly burned and was in need of a miracle. Before I could not put any photos on the site as the area she was not the sort of pictures that need to be displayed, but we now have a photo that can be shown. She is doing very well, but still needs prayer. In the picture the burn wound is bleeding, but that is because one of her siblings has literally just fallen on it, so it is not as bad as it looks.
Thanks goes out to those that have prayed and that are praying…please continue to do so. The picture is Marissa’s upper left thigh area. Even though the picture looks bad, she is actually doing ok. You can see new skin. The wound is a bit of a concern – no infections in Jesus Name. Amen
Smile Train – some of the next children…
After Muhammads successful operation, here are some of the next children in line to get their faces fixed up…
Changing lives one person at a time, there is nothing hard or complicated about it. Have a go yourself, and you will find that it is not that hard, everyone can help somebody else in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ.
Operation Angle – NO LIMITS
The last four posts on this site are all old photos, things that have happened in the last three years, but many people have never seen them before and so we are updating them on the blog just to promote what God can do, let them inspire you, let them challenge you to believe, let them bless you.
Angel, what an incredible story. I had been shown photos of a horribly deformed child, which in all honesty I did not believe. I thought the pics were old and that the child would be long dead, plus we had plenty to do anyway…so I just ignored it. The very next weekend this little girl was in church with her mum. The instant I saw her, God spoke to my heart to help her. So without knowing anything at all about the child, with no money, no resource and no reason, we announced to the church and the mother that we were going to fix this somehow…next we prayed.
We sent pics to Australia and people began to rally together and raise funds. The Port Lincoln AOG, the Barossa Valley AOG and numerous individuals began got involved to change a life. We flew mum and Angel to Australia for an incredible facial re-construction. The Cranio Facial Unit in Adelaides Women and Childrens Hospital did an amazing job. The surgeon, Dr David David, is one of the worlds best. Angel will have further operations in years to come, but the change is already amazing. Angel is now attending blind school and is learning to read brail. Liezel, her mother is one of the leaders in our ministry in Baseco.
There is nothing the Jesus cannot do, nothing at all. Aim high, believe for huge things.

Smile Train – Miracles for little Mouths…
We read an advertisement in the local newspaper for an organisation who was doing free hair lip operations for children. We contacted them, found out the apprpriate information and began.
We have taken two children from Baseco to be assessed so far. The process is simple, get some xrays, have a medical check up…and get the operation. The only thing that we have to do is take children to them and pay for any medcines that the child might need before the operation, as they won’t operate on a sick child.
The first child that Chris took is Muhumad, a little muslim boy, he sailed throuth the process, but on the day of his operation had asthma, so his operation has been postponed for a few weeks.
The next child we took is B.J, but B.J is malnourished and needs to double in weight before he can get his operation, but that won’t take long as we are pumping vitamins and food into him.
But it seems to be a great organisation, who do literally hundreds of operations per week. Do a search for Smile Train on the net to see more of what they do. They do all sorts of facial reconstruction work on children in the third world.
The hands and feet of Jesus
Christine was out and about in our slum world when a mother comes hurrying up to her dragging a little girl, who is screaming and crying. The girl is her daughter and she has literally just recieved a horrific hot oil burn. People in her area were coming out with all sorts of local remedies for the girl, but the lady knew that Christine was just over there, and so she took her child to Chris saying “Nanay Christine will know what to do…”.
Chris immediatley begins to pour water over the girl for maybe 20 minutes or more, just getting the heat out of the burn. The girl is in so much pain. Chris then smothers the fresh burn in burns cream (which one of the leaders had run to the house and gotten) and then she sends them off to hospital.
The hospital was happy with what Chris had done and sent the girl home with some paracetamol. Chris visits the girl each day keeping the burn clean and applying more cream each day. As the blister began to burst, Chris would carefully cut away the dead skin.
