PRAYER
Prayer that works, is prayer that is worked at…Prayer inspires more prayer…
Our team of leaders are constantly increasing in prayer. All nights of prayer, whole days of prayer, it’s like there is a growing need to pray, a desire for prayer that that is somehow feeding itself. To have a geniune deisre to pray is incredible, but when that desire begins to increasingly bring you into the presence of God, it’s nearly as if it can change into a “God dependant NEED to be in His presence”, nothing else satifies anymore, nothing else is good enough, I must have this, I must be here, must be simiar to a drug addiction in many ways.
Pastor Marivic sent me a txt last night, asking if she could cancel our normal schedule today because some of the leaders wanted to spend all day praying, worshipping and seeking God, a request to which you can only answer “YES”. I was up nice and early as usual, I spent a few hours with the Lord and then wandered over to see how the day of prayer was actually going.
They all met at Belinda’s house at 9am, went upstairs and began. I arrived about 11am and there were 7 of then all sitting inside a mozzie net, small cd player going, bibles open, all praying in tongues and worshipping. So good to see and hear. No one leading it, no one at the centre, no one preaching or sharing the latest prophetic word…just people calling out to God. I was able to sort of sneak up there without being noticed, which was good, because sometimes my presence changes things. Not that I am all that special, but they are very respectful people and I am the pastor, they might of asked me to share or lead in prayer, pray for them…but I wanted to see what they were doing, how the Lord was leading them. Great stuff. They would just float from worship to prayer, speaking in tongues, spontaineous crying or laughing, then some one would begin calling down fire in Jesus name…we have not taught these things, this is not learned christian behaviour, they have never seen videos on crying or laughing when the Spirit moves…this is the real deal, God moving on hungry hearts.
We have some friends of ours coming to Baseco in a month or so, James is a crazy worship guy (one of those ecentric people who lives on another planet with Jesus), Cathy is much the same…I am waiting to see what happens when they get here, because they will be able to slot into this so well, unstructured, unforced, no song lists, no worship leader, no time limits…just people who want God…it’s going to be a great combination of gift, hunger, desire and then the type of lifestyle that just allows you to stop for the whole day and seek God.
It has not really spilled over into church services yet, but it must eventually, there is no way that it can stay where it is…God is the one driving it along.
Bless you – Mark
I cannot wait…my spirit is all churned up in a good way expectation way…..I am beginning to have a repulsion for all things wasting time/money/effort/food even…..
Yep we slot in fine…6 kids and all…..Lord help us….He will!!
How often have we hungered for no time limits and no structure and just worship…?? It could have only happened with the freedom/trust you as a Pastor/friend gives….I remember all those years ago….preparation for such a time as this.
This stiring and excitement MUST be God……..You are right he is driving it, we gotta let him have His way.
