Early will I seek thee…

Psalm 63 “God you are my God, early will I seek thee, my soul longs, my flesh thirsts – show us your power and your glory”

Once you begin to get amongst the needs of the world (where everyou are, there are incredible needs), once you begin to work with the poor you very quickly begin to realise how much the world needs Jesus. The world is in kaos and distress, it’s dying, struggling to survive without the life of God.

Christ in us is the answer for the world today. The world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God – that’s me and you walking and living in the power of the Spirit.

Living amongst poverty like we do, you soon realise that money is not the solution, it plays a part, but it is more about our heart. There are plenty of rich people both helping the poor and others just storing up their extra – it’s all about our hearts. First and formost our hearts must be set on Christ, seeking for God. David said “One thing have I desired from the Lord, that will I seek, to dwell in the courts of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold His beauty and inquire in His temple”. Hearts set on God, will soon become hearts set on others as well.

There is some how something wrong with a worship of God that does not lead us to being more concerned about others. Any fom of religion that is centered on God must also become centered on others, particularily those in need, those in poverty. God leads me to Him, so that He can lead me to others, He blesses me so that I become a blessing to others.

We have muslims in our churches, we send their children to school, we give them medicines and love, hopefully they see Christ in us and it inspires hope in them.

We diligently seek God and then we diligently seek others (Luke 19:10).

We just had a couple of great guys from Melbourne here with us for a week, Andrew and Michael and they have hearts for people. They have outreaches in their own communities for the poor, the needy, the unloved. Everyone can do that, you don’t need to go to the third world to find the needy and the poor, you have them where you are.

Even while I was writing this blog, I had a lady come to the gate, all she needed was 20p (50cents) for transport to a local hospital as her baby has had a fever for a few days. 20p, I won’t miss that, she is a lady we work with often, she has no income at all, no husband, no hope of finding the money to go to hospital…20p and she does not have it, she can’t save it, it’s just not there for her, she’s poor, she needs help, she needs a place where she can come and get 50cents – and that needs to be available for her whenever she needs it.

The world needs Jesus, and He is in you. Seek Him with all of your hearts and then go and seek people with the same passion, run after them, don’t let them go until you have shown them Jesus. Take them hope, help, kindness, love them until they can’t take it any more – they re waiting for you.

Luke 16:16, people are waiting, pressing in to hear the gospel, Rom 8:22, the creation groans waiting for you…in some places we have developed a culture or thought pattern that says it’s hard to win the lost, they don’t want to hear, their anti the gospel and we have complicated the whole issue of evangelism and made some christians afraid or uncertain about how to reach the lost. No one resisted Jesus except the religious, no needy person pushed Him away, they were waiting for help, hope and salvation. People don’t like empty religion, they see through the false and the fake, they don’t want to be some ones “PROJECT”, but they will respond to real Christians, they will respond to kindness, compassion and love. These things speak louder than the best sermon, they are sermons in action, they change lives.

I want you to have a go, try, step out, go a bit further than you might of gone before, find your limits and then step over them, get out of your comfort zones, do something for another person today, help some one who can’t repay you.

Let CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY shine out and touch your world, be an agent of change – YOU CAN DO IT, HE IS WITH YOU….YOU WILL NOT FAIL….
